The Ballard House in Yorktown, Virginia is included in Colonial National Historical Park. This documentary study on the structure relates the history of the house, its dependencies, and the people associated with it, especially those in the colonial and revolutionary periods. The Ballard House received its name from Captain John Ballard who was the first person of known specific reference to be in residence on the property. The study follows the ownership of the structure to its purchase by the National Park Service in 1968. Illustrations have been included of town maps and earlier photographs of the house.
