Coal-Tar Extended Polysulfide Canal Sealant. Laboratory Tests of Coal-Tar Extended Polysulfide Sealer, Specifically Formulated for Use in Contraction Joints in Concrete-Lined Canals

Laboratory tests indicate that coal tar extended polysulfide sealers are suitable for sealing contraction joints in concrete canal linings when applied to fresh concrete. Field applications of this sealer in cured concrete indicate that satisfactory sealing is achieved. The report covers tests on sealing materials from 3 different manufacturers. Tests conducted include: tensile tests after various environmental exposures and exposure periods, creep tests, stress-relaxation tests, offset tests, and extension offset tests. (Author)
