Laboratory Studies of Soil Rotary Tillers with Vibrating Knives

The large energy requirement of soil rotary tillers to a large degree restrains their wide use for tilling soil, therefore the question of decreasing the energy requirement of soil rotary tillers is very important. Studies of model soil rotary tillers were conducted in 1964 at the Kuban Agricultural Institute Laboratory. The tillers mounted on a trolley had vibrating knives and the tiller drum had three sections with 4 bog type knives on each. An internal shaft-vibrator had 6 friction cam-plates on each section.
