摘要

The objective of the research was to evaluate specific methods of reducing friction between concrete slabs and different surface textures of cement-treated subbase. Three friction reducing treatments: sand,sand covered with 4mil polyethylene,and a double layer of 4mil polyethylene,were evaluated on smooth,medium,and rough surface textures of bituminous coated cement-treated subbase (CTS). Sand layer thicknesses were 1/16and 1/4-in. Bituminous coated and uncoated CTS without a friction reducer was also evaluated. In addition,four slabs of various sizes and weights were evaluated on bituminous coated medium texture CTS. (Author)
