The effects of technological changes in agriculture in the less developed countries are a matter of increasing concern. As efforts to expand agricultural production begin to pay off,the many and complex ramifications of technological change become more and more evident. This document provides an introduction to some of the major effects of technological change in agriculture. Included among the topics considered are: The nature of technological change;adoption process for agricultural technology;impact of changes in agricultural technology;high-yielding varieties of grain;mechanization of agriculture;and policy implications of technological change.
