Guidelines for Computer-Based Patient Monitoring Systems.

摘要

The guidelines provide a data base for decision-makers in health care in their determination of needs and requirements for patient monitoring systems in their institutions and in the realistic evaluation of the costs and benefits of system implementation. Further,the guidelines are designed to aid in the selection,procurement,installation,and implementation of an appropriate patient monitoring system and to provide suggestions for evaluation and continued development of the usefulness of the implemented system. However,these guidelines are not intended as a substitute for careful examination of the published literature on patient monitoring systems and discussions with current users. They are intended to present a comprehensive overview based mainly on a study of several of these systems,in research settings,and to provide a starting point for health care providers in their decision-making process.
