摘要

Laboratory testing was performed exploring the parameters involved in water jet assisted mechanical rock cutting. The high pressure water jet is traversed over the rock surface cutting very narrow kerfs. The trailing disc cutter then benefits from an apparent fractured surface. Experiments were performed on different hard rock types,with different spacings,penetrations and patterns. The water jet assisted cutter is definitely more effective in removing rock than the mechanical cutter or jet alone.
