摘要

The objective of the study was to determine the economic feasibility of mining OCS sand and gravel at two locations, the San Pedro shelf (off Los Angeles) and the San Diego shelf. All of the systems analyzed showed a negative net present value of after-tax cash flows, using a risk adjusted interest rate of 20%. Mining systems analyzed were clamshell dredging, bucket ladder dredging and hydraulic suction dredging.
