Coordination of the Development of a Pre-Exposure Test for Monitoring Mutagens and Carcinogens in the Metal Working Industry

The main purpose of the project is the development and coordination of an early warning system for preventive protection against carcinogens through a pre-exposure screening system for working environment aerosols, coupled with a development program designed to lead to the establishment of new low risk welding products or processes, and/or operating guidelines for existing processes whereby welding fumes of minimum toxicity/mutagenicity/biological activity would be produced.
