An Investigation of the Down-Draft Gasification Characteristics of Agricultural and Forestry Residues: Interim Report

This Interim Report provides an overview of the experimental work conducted with the Laboratory Gas Producer to determine the gasification characteristics of twenty-four agricultural and wood residues. The test objectives were: (1) determine the gasification characteristics of the fuels; (2) the associated physical and chemical characteristics of the fuels and their gasification residues; and (3) the potential for the fuel to produce slag in the gas producer reaction zones. Each test was conducted for a period of six hours if slagging did not shorten the run period.
