New Structures and Equipment by Using Industries, 1972: Detailed Estimates and Methodology

The report presents new structures and equipment by using industries (capital flows) for 1972. The bulk of the paper is a description of the procedures used to make the initial distribution by using industry of the 606 capital goods items that comprise gross private domestic fixed investment in the 1972 input-output table. The report also describes the procedures, including the adjustment for input-output definitions, and conventions, used to estimate capital expenditures by industry, and finally the procedures used to reconcile the two sets of estimates to produce the capital flow table.
