Amygdala Central Nucleus: Role in Learning and Memory

摘要

The contribution of the amygdala central nucleus to learning and memory processes was investigated. From a learning analysis approach, results have led to a more precise formulation of the contribution of one specific nucleus of the amygdala to conditioned cardiovascular responding during aversive conditioning procedures. From an emotional behavior analysis approach, results presented more detailed data concerning the regulation of the cardiovascular system during conditioned emotional states. From a cardiovascular analysis approach, results presented data on the origin of rather direct limbic forebrain influences on the cardiovascular system. The results may have important implications on future research on psychosomatic disorders including cardiopathy and stress-induced ulceration.
