Studies of Computer-Mediated Communications Systems: A Synthesis of the Findings

Twenty-one designers and evaluators of computerized conferencing, electronic mail, and office support systems report their findings and conclusions in terms of a common conceptual framework. Topics included are the importance of various software design features; determinants of user acceptance; six types of impacts (cognitive, affective and behavioral impacts upon individuals and user groups); and evaluation methods.
