The Determination of Organohalide Pesticides and PCBs in Industrial and Municipal Wastewater: Method 617

This is a gas chromatographic (GC) method applicable to the determination of selected pesticides in municipal and industrial discharges as provided under 40CFR 136.1. A sample is solvent extracted with 15% methylene chloride in hexane using a separatory funnel. The extract is concentrated, then analyzed by GC with an electron capture detector. A total of 29 pesticides and 7 PCBs are included in the method scope.
