Horticultural Trade of the Expanded European Community: Implications for Mediterranean Countries

The book has two parts. Part I discusses the prospective effects of European Community (EC) enlargement on the market for fruits and vegetables. Chapter 1 describes the policy apparatus and mechanisms of the EC for regulating trade in fruits and vegetables, and chapter 2 outlines the methodology used in projecting changes in trade and prices. Subsequent chapters give the results of the study for ten vegetables (annual crops) and ten fruits (perennial crops). Part II deals with Tunisia as a case study of the types of changes that might result from the southward expansion of the EC.
