Asphalt-Rubber Surface Treatments and Interlayers

The feasibility of asphalt-rubber binders in New York State was examined by reviewing 26 FHWA Demonstration Projects and an economic and structural analysis of five rehabilitation alternatives (including two with asphalt-rubber and three conventional New York State alternatives). Based on short-term performance and cost data, asphalt-rubber membranes are not economically justifiable in New York.
