Cooperative Dairy Development in Karnataka, India: An Assessment

The report assesses the Karnataka Dairy Development Project, a World Bank program initiated in 1974 that is modeled after the controversial Operation Flood projects. Using data from a five-round household survey of 62 villages, the report considers whether the Karnataka program has expanded production of milk, increased incomes and employment, and improved nutrition.
