Soft Decording of Recorded HF Data (Mjuk Avkodning av Data Fran Faeltfoersoek pa Kortvag)

摘要

The report discusses the performance and an estimation of the complexity of some decoding schemes for concatenated codes that also takes advantages of channel measurement information. The main purpose with the work is to improve the performance of a frequency hopping system on the HF-channel. The work is done by simulations on a computer using recorded data from measurements with the system. It is shown that it is possible to obtain a resultant bit error rate of 1 x 10 to the -5th power when the bit error rate before decoding is below 5.1 percent by use of a concatenated code and soft information with a coding rate of 0.3.
