Theory of One and Two-Pass Cross-Flow Heat Exchanger

There are numerous ways to connect heat exchangers. The fluids may be mixed or unmixed between the heat exchangers and inside the heat exchangers. The heat exchangers may be connected in counterflow or in cocurrent flow. The efficiency of the cross-flow system and the efficiency charts are usually calculated by using numerical methods. Analytical solutions are valuable. In this paper, new analytical solutions for the two-pass cross-flow heat exchangers are derived.
