摘要

The Wilderness Suitability Study/Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) describes and analyzes the environmental, social, and economic effects of designating or not designating two wilderness study areas (WSAs) in the Powder River resource Area as wilderness. The study areas are Buffalo Creek (5,650 acres) and Zook Creek (8,438 acres). Buffalo Creek and Zook Creek WSAs are being studied under the authority of Section 603 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act. The alternatives considered in the study are All Wilderness and No Wilderness. The proposed action is to recommend both WSAs as unsuitable for wilderness designation. The draft Resource Management Plan (RMP)/Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was filed with EPA on February 24, 1984, and received a 90-day public review from March 9 to June 7, 1984, which included public hearings.
