The Swedish expedition to South Georgia during the Austral summer 1990/91 was aninitial step in a cooperative arrangement with the British Antarctic survey (BAS) to promote and foster Swedish-British collaboration in polar research. It was as a reconnaissance expedition, the main purpose of which was to lay the ground for future reserach activities.
