Numerical Solution of Initial Value Problems Whose Solution Is Known Implicitly

摘要

Numerical solution of various problems by the method of continuation is achieved by reformulating these problems as initial-value ones. The peculiar property of these initial-value problems is that their implicit solution is known. Data show how to take advantage of this information in the case of finding roots of polynomials and of solving eigenvalue problems. (Author)
