The Theoretical Performance of a New Array Antenna Configuration for Medium and Long Distance HF Communication

Computer simulations were performed using an interactive computer program based on a mathematical model of an arbitrary HF array antenna located above imperfect ground. The arrays described are rotatable 360 deg in azimuth and steerable over the desired elevation angles. The proposed configuration is a fully developed economical solution to most present medium and long distance HF transmission and shows a power gain exceeding that of rotatable log periodic antennas by an order of magnitude.
