Optimal control was applied to deconvolution of velocimeter signals, and a method for maintaining effective deconvolution when data are corrupted by noise was developed. The effects of inaccuracy in estimating velocimeter parameters were studied. Results show that the effects may be approximately described by the ratio of the system function of the true system to that of the estimate. For the velocimeter, the effects of miscalculation of the resonant frequency and the damping ratio are demonstrated. Miscalculation degrades the deconvolution in the region of the resonance but in other areas has a relatively slight effect.
