Amiet Shear Layer Correction with an Additional Temperature Gradient Considered: Nomograms for the Correction of Noise Signatures from Open Jet Wind Tunnel Tests

摘要

Amiet's correction scheme for sound wave transmission through shear layers is extended to incorporate the additional effects of different temperatures in the flow field and in the surrounding medium at rest. The influence of different temperatures is greatest in the direction contrary to the flow field. Within a parameter regime typical for acoustic measurements in wind tunnels, amplitude and angle-correction are calculated and plotted to provide a data base.
