Coulometric Sensor: Integration of a Chemical Sensor-Actuator System

An integrated sensor-acuator system that measures the concentration of acids and bases by coulometric titration is proposed. The output of the sensor is determined only by its dimensions and is not subject to changes in offset and sensitivity of the indicator electrode. Operation of the sensor is stable for a long time so that only one initial calibration is required. Information not only flows from the chemical environment to the data processing system but also the other way around. The actuator can influence the composition of the chemical environment and thus provide a test signal for the sensor. A CO2 sensor was built. Lifetime is at least several months.
