The superconducting gravimeter and the evaluation of its measuring data are presented. The theory of the static gravimeter is given. The principle of superconductivity, the technical realization of a superconducting gravimeter, and the acquisition of the measuring signals are treated. The methods applied for the calibration of gravimeters are presented. The evaluation of the measurements with the superconducting gravimeter, including drift, gravimeter registrations, and parallel observations with two superconducting gravimeters, is explained. The further development of the gravimeter to a driftfree gravimeter and an instrument providing absolute values is discussed.
