Compiling Knowledge-Based Systems to Ada, Phase 2

摘要

This document is the final report of Phase Two of the PrkAda project. PrkAda is asystem for delivering, in a pure-Ada environment, artificial intelligence and object-oriented applications developed in the C-based ProKappa system. This involves developing (1) a compiler from ProKappa's high-level, backtracking-based language, ProTalk, to Ada, and (2) creating a run-time, Ada-language, object-system core. Novel components of this implementation include our approach to automatic storage management in Ada, achieving dynamic instance method binding in Ada, and compilation of a backtracking language to a generator model using Ada tasks.
