This report presents the results of a flight investigation conducted at the Langley Research Center and includes some of the operating problems and related aerodynamic characteristics of a tilt-duct, fixed-wing, vertical-take-off-and-landing (VTOL) configuration.nBuffet-boundary (stall onset) angles of attack, which limited the operational capabilities of this tilt-duct test aircraft, were found to vary considerably over the transition speed range, as well as with power setting. Generally, the stall-free operational range of angles of attack was decreased when operating at reduced power.
