摘要

Heat-transfer measurements were obtained on a flat plate and attached protuberances through a range of Mach number, Reynolds number, and angle of attack in boundary-layer thicknesses of 1.5 and 6.0 inches. The models consisted of two specific protuberances, an engine fairing and an equipment pod, and a generalized corrugated panel used with two leading edges.nThe more streamlined protuberances, as compared with bluff protuberances, resulted in a smaller flat-plate surface area affected by flow separation and, in general, resulted in lower heating rates both on the flat plate and on the protuberance models.
