摘要

Flight tests have been made to measure the static and dynamic longitudinal stability, the effect of ground on stability, and the elevator power of the Avro 707B which has a delta wing sweptback 44.5°. A comparison of the results with those of tunnel tests is made.nThere is a loss of static stability, stick fixed and free, above a lift coefficient of 0.5. Stick force/g at low speed is small particularly at the aft cg position, although no great difficulties were encountered due to this or the lack of static stability during the approach and landing.
