THE SOLID WEDGE FINITE ELEMENT FOR STRESS ANALYSIS

A wedge-shaped element containing fifteen corner and midside nodes suitable for use in three-dimensional structures is presented. The element has been incorporated in the C.E.G.B. general stressing system, called SAFE, and is designated EZ45. The element is expected to be used mainly in conjunction with the solid brick element with twenty corner and midside nodes, currently available in SAFE and designated EZ60.
