摘要

Boundary layer separation was induced by placing various spanwise steps and wedges at the rear of the nodal. The established flow was photographed in monochrome and colour using a shori-durasion spark-light source and a single pass schlieren system. The resultant black and white and colour prints showed that local detail the flow was more easily discernable in colour than in black and while. The equipment, tecnrllques used and interpretation of the photographs are discussed in detail.
