Advances in CDZNTE Detectors for Safeguards

In this paper, we will describe recent developments in CdZnTe detectortechnology, including methods to improve the performance of detectors at high ambient temperature, miniature electronics for spectroscopy, and analytical software for portable detectors. A large-volume, portable detection probe consisting of an array of coplanar grid detectors is demonstrated. The probe is shown to have similar efficiency to NaI(Tl) detectors used for holdup measurements.
