Exact Result Concerning the Treatment of the Pairing Correlations in Finite Systems

It is shown that the requirements of finiteness of nuclei and selfconsistency of the equations describing the single particle field lead to the fact that the pairing correlations are strictly allowed for quasiparticles in an energy band of a determined width in the vicinity of the Fermi level.
