Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer and Automated Sample Changing Apparatus

A commercial Fourier transform infrared spectrometer was modified for automated analysis of Teflon air filters by the addition of a sample changing compartment capable of positioning up to 40 filters for analysis. Software was developed to automatically position the filter samples, control data acquisition, and analyze the resultant data using spectral and analysis together with empirical calibration curves.
