Subtier Assessment: Advanced Suspension Systems for Tracked Combat Vehicles

摘要

This study addressed the industrial suppliers for suspension systems and their components for tracked combat vehicles (TCVs). It contains a summary of findings by another study group that addressed suspension systems for current TCVs. It provides original research on the components and related manufacturers for adaptive or active systems in which the rate of energy storage or dissipation by the suspension system is automatically adjusted to improve the system's performance. The study concludes that although some manufacturing capabilities should be monitored, the industrial capacity to produce suspension systems for TCVs does not warrant urgent concern by the Department of Defense.
