Preliminary Tests for the Detection of Arrow Projectiles by by Means of a Continuous Radar Receiver-Transmitter of Low Power

One of the essential conditions for the realization of active protection systems is the availability of sensors or adapted units of detection, which allow detection of the assailing projectiles from their phase of approaching the target. This implies above all space determination of the direction of the flight of approach and the speed of the threat. In complement of work already carried out with ISL in the field of the projectiles detection, a first series of preliminary tests took place meanwhile for the detection of projectiles arrows of average gauge to the aid of continuous radar receptor transmitter of low power. The results obtained thus that certain particular aspects of the detection of projectiles by means of Doppler radar sensors are the subject of this report. One particularly interesting advantage of this method of detection is the use of filters band pass of very low cost which makes it possible to carry out a fast and reliable selection type of threat.
