We Measure Success through the Eyes of the War Fighter

United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) provides strategic mobility to our nation. No other government, commercial, or private agency can move as much to as many places as quickly. The past two years have been among the most challenging in USTRANSCOM s history. In the face of unfavorable strategic headwinds caused by our national debt and uncertain security environment, the team at USTRANSCOM has set in place a strategy to balance these challenges in an effective, efficient manner. No one can be certain where the next crisis in the world may occur, but assured global access will guarantee our readiness. We will expand our strategic access by leveraging our role as the GDS to improve key infrastructure and use diplomacy to open new lines of communication, as demonstrated by the NDN and arctic overflight. We will also improve our ability to deliver to the point of need by exploiting new systems such as low-cost, high-speed airdrop and transformational systems such as hybrid airships. The historic and deliberate placement of forward operating posts beyond ground lines of communication in Afghanistan, completely reliant on aerial delivery, speaks volumes about the trust we have earned from our Soldiers, who know that USTRANSCOM and its air component will always ALWAYS deliver.
