These specifications cover the dimensional and ma¬terial requirements of rubber "0" rings for use as seals and pack¬ings. Also included are the recommended groove dimensions' for standard size "0" rings.nThe materials and groove dimensions covered in these specifi¬cations are recommended for static or reciprocating seal applica¬tions in which fluid pressures up to 1500 psi are encountered. (By maintaining very close dimensional tolerances and employing back-up rings and "O" rings in a higher durometer hardness range, it is possible to seal satisfactorily fluids at pressures as high as 5000 psi.)
