A rubber O-ring seal (11) has a bulge (13) at one end which is inserted into the gap between a housing (19) and a surrounding base (31). The rubber seal has a stem (12) with a first wide transverse hole (17) and a second narrower transverse hole (18) through which a tool (33) may be inserted to hook onto the stem. The first hole is pushed in place onto an adjacent chamfered pin (32) rising from the base.
