摘要

Aircrew members delivering nuclear devices may be exposed to dangerousnintensities of thermal radiation even though, their cockpit is not orientedndirectly toward the detonation. Since accuracy of delivery may be Inverselynrelated to distance from the target it is Important to determine the nearestnsafe distance from the detonation. Tolerable intensities were determinednfirst in. a static fighter-bomber, but in those experiments the method preventednvalid measurement of subjects1 skin temperature in critical areas. Anradiometer was designed and constructed using a lead telluride sensor, anmirror optical system, and a germanium optical filter. Nuclear thermalnare related to spectral characteristics of human skin.nthe Importance of the filtering capabilities of Plexiglas’s canopies as they
