摘要

Using CINDA-3G, a three-dimensional,multi-mode heat transfer computer program,the one-dimensional transient temperature distributions produced in a 0.0625inch thick, 7075AL-T6flat plate when the plate's front surface is exposed to each of fourteen different nuclear thermal radiation environments were calculated. The transient compression stress distributions required to keep the plate from expanding in two mutually perpendicular directions were also calculated. If all of the radiant energy incident on the surface is absorbed,five of the fourteen environments provide enough energy to produce a change of phase in the plate. For the remaining nine environments,compression stresses ranging from 13,500psi to 132,000psi would be required to keep the plate from expanding. (Author)
