摘要

In this general text on azo dyestuffs, a historical survey of the development of azo dye technology is followed by a discussion of the chemical reactions and mechanisms underlying synthetic dye derivation. Specific descriptions, methods of derivation and applications of dyes, soluble and insoluble in water and organic compounds, are given. The structures of all the important dyes discussed are pictured throughout the test and in tables.
