摘要

The erosion resulting from solid particles ingested into rotating machinery is predicted using a Monte Carlo simulation of the physical process. This simulation takes into account the aerodynamic drag on the contaminant particles, the rebound dynamics of the particles impacting the solid blades or channel walls and the material removal process. The computerized model is used to predict the quantity of material removed from the stationary and rotating blades of a turbomachine as well as the location of the erosion on the blades. This model is verified by testing a specially designed one and one-half stage test compressor and measuring the erosion. (Author)
