A Possible Use of the Surface States of Transition and Rare-Earth Metal Ions in the Theory of Catalysis.

摘要

A very brief and concise approach to the theory of heterogeneous catalysis is presented. The theory, as given, is in very rough stages; nevertheless, the theory has certain unique benefits. The approach given here is to include the contribution of the unfilled electron shell to the potential near the metal surface. A particular example is calculated for the various states of Pr(3+) in PrSb for a (100) surface. (Author)
