This report presents the results of a component research program for a closed cycle gas turbine powerplant. The report encompasses a first year effort on a test and analysis project evaluating axial-flow compressor performance in a helium gas environment and evaluating helium gas film bearings for a closed cycle gas turbine powerplant.
