Winter and Spring Oceanographic Conditions in and under the Ice of the Bering Sea.

A search for thermal fronts and presumed associated finestructure near the ice of the Bering Sea was carried out using historical oceanographic data. A few weak fronts were found during the months of February to May. Strong fronts and, probably, fine structure existed in the northern Bering Sea in June. Some conclusions were drawn about the winter brine convection process. (Author)
