SOFTWARE FOR COMMUNICATION BETWEEN A HEWLETT PACKARD 9825 PROCESS CONTROL COMPUTER AND A HONEYWELL 66/60 TIME SHARING COMPUTER

This report describes the hardware and a computer program used to provide a convenient and efficient system of transferring data between a computer controlled manufacturing process and a large main frame computer for permanent data storage and analysis. Data is transmitted from a test system using an HP98 25 process Control Computer to a remote Honeywell 66/60 Time Sharing Computer. The hardware/software system provides a maximum of convenience and flex bility along with visible prompting for the operator. A checksum is generated and transmitted with the data for error detection.
