Development of Tin-Based Organometallic Anti-Fouling Coatings for Navy Use

摘要

This report reviews the Navy's needs in the development to tin-based organometallic anti-fouling coatings in the context of work accomplished, work in progress, and work still to be done. Areas addressed include: (1) The determination of the most effective organotin biocides and leach rates, (2) Air monitoring techniques for use in organotin painting and removal operations and (3) The effects of organotins on harbor and coastal areas both in the aquatic environment and in sediments.
